Ruth specializes in creative brain play so students can produce stronger more profound artwork on both a visual and emotional level, this develops stronger creative skills thus improving learning skills in other areas of life. Art strengthens cognitive skills and has a positive effect on memory concentration processing speed and problem solving. Improvements in visual memory ,observation and mental image processing. Ruth has appreciated the joy received from people creating  amazing art work even though they may have had special needs .In today's ever growing technology age  it is critical learners learn to teach themselves through independent creative thinking.
Testimonials
Ruth's art classes at our Dementia Day Group have been amazing for both clients and the staff. Her method of teaching and guiding allow our clients to participate and enjoy painting and drawing. all of the clients really enjoy  the classes and it gives them the opportunity to work on a piece of art of their own and they are very proud with finished painting.

Ruth  has been our resident art teacher at Chesalon Day Centre for 18 months. I particularly like the way she enables clients to have the confidence in drawing by breaking it down for them and going at their pace  and speed so as to not make them feel like they can not do the art work. Our clients are blown away when they have completed a piece of work and have been known to say " did I really do that "thinking that they are not initially capable and because of Ruth's patience and teaching techniques they are able to produce some fabulous pieces of art. This year we had them copied and had them turned into personalized cards which have been amazing. I would recommend Ruth and I have also recommended her to other organizations.  The clients really do enjoy working with her and so do the staff.

Ruth previously worked at our OSHC service before making the decision to pursue her own  passion and focus on teaching art to children. She is without a doubt a fantastic facilitator who carefully plans and executes each experience she delivers. She engages children from the onset and the children"s final products are always outstanding. Her vacation care workshops are targeted to children's interests and are extremely well presented to teach and guide children. Her patience and gentle manner make her approachable and engaging.
